History

God has placed on the hearts of some in the group the desire to start a new church dating back about 10 years.  This started when we saw the effectiveness of a new church plant that focuses on specifically reaching out to those who are not already participating in a church.  We recognize that God has provided us with experience, capabilities, and opportunities that can be highly effective at reaching those who are unchurched and spiritually restless.

Pastor Stan Reeder, the senior pastor of a large church in Westminsterstrongly encouraged us to pursue the idea of starting a new church in early 2006.  "Pastor Stan" has a huge heart for and experience in church planting.  In the summer of 2006, a few families began talking about the concept in more detail.  In November 2006, we had a home meeting with several families who were potentially interested, in order to share the vision and assess interest.

In February 2007, we began meeting in a home as a small group.  We determined early on that providing opportunities for children to learn should be intentional.  This led us to the start of a children’s program, which began with our very first meeting.  Pastor Amy Crain helped us launch "Kidmo".

In May 2007, we continued the children’s program and started four discussion groups involving two new adult series, The Truth Project and Growing Kids God’s way.

Memorial Day weekend 2007 marked our first international mission trip, as a dozen people joined to help build homes in Mexico for those in desperate need.

Where next?  We have many plans, and whether we realize it or not, we have already become a community of faith.  Together we seek to understand how to establish better families and how to better know and live out our faith.  We will continue to impact our community through outreach, developing weekend services, defining and strengthening our core, and recruiting pastoral leadership.  As we move forward, many things are happening, and we are trying to keep up with the blessings God keeps sending us.

And so we continue to follow Jesus' lead as we strive to be faithful to His example.
